Networking event…NO…Yes, I have to…
I am a part of this woman leadership group at my job. Recently they hosted a networking event that included other businesses around the valley. I was TERRIFIED to go, but I made myself because I knew this would be a great next step in my career.
“I took a deep breath, walked over to the guest speaker and introduced myself.”
The event was actually really fun and I learned a lot. Afterward I told myself that I needed to try to introduce myself to the guest speaker. After about 10 minutes of giving myself a pep talk, I took a deep breath, walked over to the guest speaker and introduced myself. I asked her how to build effective relationships with your team when you have a large team (I have 44 team members), and she said that you have to walk around and chat with them every morning.
I started doing that and the feedback I received was amazing.
“The event had a raffle and I jokingly told my friends that I was going to win a prize. I told them I was going to manifest it and it was going to happen. I won! Oh how I love networking swag. :)”
I was so proud of myself for attending the event. This was totally out of my comfort zone but I am glad I did it.
